He was born at White Lake, Oakland County, Mich., December 25, 1849. His father, John Bachman, was a native of New York and a farmer by calling. Ezra Meade, a prominent and wealthy citizen of Grand Blanc Township, Genesee County, was born January 18, 1826, in St. Lawrence County, N.Y. He is a son of Burton and Eunice Meade, and his father was a native of New England. The family emigrated to Michigan in 1836, when this son was some ten years old, and resided in Oakland County for nearly three years before coming to Mundy Township, Genesee County.
