Edward A. Brisson
(June 6, 1915 – June 16, 2003)
NEGAUNEE — Edward A. Brisson, age 88, of 326 E. Case St., Negaunee died at 2:41 PM on Monday, June 16, 2003, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Manistee.
Edward was born June 6, 1915, in Marquette to Ambrose & Virginia (St. Arnold) Brisson and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a welder for CCI, retiring in 1981 with over 30 years with the company.
Mr. Brisson was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee. He was a proud member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, & gardener. He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the country in their retirement years.
Surviving are four sons, Edward (JoAnne) Brisson, Bradford, MA, Jerry (Patty) Brisson, Cheyenne, WY, Joe (April) Brisson, Manistee, Doug (Gloria) Brisson, Longmont, CO; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth A. (Kratz) on Nov. 12, 2002, and a sister Katherine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Shiverski officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Brisson’s 4 sons; a grandson Joseph Brisson, II; and a nephew Dennis Kratz.
