Mildred D. Cadeau
(17 November 1925 – 22 April 2003)
BARAGA – Mildred D. Cadeau, 77, of Baraga, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at her home with her family at her side. She was born November 17, 1925 in Keweenaw Bay, daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Wesela) LaFernier. Mildred married Dennis Cadeau on December 26, 1945 in Assinins. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and KBIC. She enjoyed gardening, house plants, picnics and cooking. Mildred is survived by three sons, Gerald (Amanda) Cadeau, James (Maggie) Cadeau and Robert Cadeau, all of Baraga; two daughters, Judy (Dwayne) Thomley of Baraga and Betty Perry of Long Beach, Miss.; brother, Earl (Carol) LaFernier of Baraga; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two special friends, Denise Marth of Elo and Popcorn Mayo of Baraga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis in 1986; brothers, Wilbur, Leslie, Bernard and Mervin LaFernier; sisters, Ethel King, Loretta LaFernier, Dora O’Brien and Stella Giddings.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Baraga. Visitations will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with parish prayers recited at 5 p.m., and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s. Fr. George Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery.
