Early Settlers

by Lorenz H. Loesel

In the following chapters, we will attempt to give a brief sketch of the early pioneers, the men who did much to build this community. Since we have their biographies given in some early accounts, we will follow these accounts rather carefully. Frequently, you will find that their life’s history gives us important data dealing with the early history of Richland Township. It would be impossible to give the complete listing of names, but at the same time, we will concern ourselves with those names who served this community as public officials.

  1. We found an arrowhead back in the 80’s, behind the Upjohn farms. Just curious if there is any information about Indians in that area. Thank you
